It's a Friday afternoon, the sun probably won't be out again till next
year and someone brought pizza into the office at lunch; so to
celebrate and commiserate all of those things, my blog today is just
for fun, but before you get excited there's an important job seeking
lesson to be learned first...
Job seeking tip of the day: Contact details can say a lot, or rather too much, about you!
We all go through our CV with a fine tooth comb before submitting it to
employers, education and work history- check, well written personal
statement- check, perfect spelling and grammar-check... But what might
be easy to forget is something as small as the email address you
supply. Make sure that your email address is sensible, professional and
simple- don't put your prospective employer off by asking him to
contact you on a silly email address that you've had since college.
To give you an idea of the type of thing to avoid, I have enlisted the
help of the FreeMyCV office; and after much amusement, deliberation and
censoring [tut tut, boys] I now bring you our definitive list of
personal email addresses you might want to consider avoiding...
Feel free to add to our list by using the comments section. Have a good weekend, and Happy Job Hunting!!
