CV databases- What's the Point?

by Sarah 30. September 2009 11:27

Job seeking is tough, isn't it?

Let me guess: you spend your time brushing up your interview techniques, following CV advice, staring at jobs websites and hitting the 'apply' button until you begin to get minor RSI.

Then...You...Wait.

Your inbox is so undisturbed that you almost expect a virtual tumbleweed to fly over the screen. Job vacancies are being snapped up quicker than you can scream 'Hire me!' and most of the time you don't even get so much as a rejection letter thrown your way. People keep banging on about CV databases- But you think, it's just another way for my application to be sucked up into the vast, unyielding vacuum that is the world of Internet job seeking, right?

WRONG!

-Employers are increasingly using CV databases to match candidates to vacancies.

-By using CV databases a recruiter can cast their net much wider than using traditional methods.

-They can browse a wealth of candidates and find the perfect applicant for every job they need to fill.

By appearing in a CV database, YOU could be that perfect candidate. Distributing your CV will mean you are putting yourself firmly in the marketplace for a job. You don't buy a car you've never seen, and people can't offer you a job if they don't know you're looking.

FreeMyCV delivers its customers brand spanking new CV's from active jobseekers- employers know that the CV's they will see are the most up-to-date bunch of candidates in the market, which is why they are so keen to get their hands on your CV.
It's that simple. One form and your CV could be in the hands of your next employer in no time.

So, you're in the game, you've distributed your CV and now you wait for the job offers to roll in, right?

WRONG AGAIN!

The best way to maximise your job seeking potential is to be aggressive in your job hunt, be forthright and active, active, active. This isn't some scary cheerleading pitch, it's just good sense- you need to make the most out of your job seeking by utilising every tool at your disposal enabling you to be rewarded with the shiny title of 'active jobseeker'. FreeMyCV does not only send your CV to jobs websites but it registers you with them as well.

This means that you can use your login details and receive all of the benefits of being a registered user on these sites. And you've only had to fill in one form. That's pretty ace, right? You can search, apply, save jobs, and check out all of the facilities they have to offerjobseekers without going through the time consuming process of registering for each individual site. By utilising the services of these sites to the max, you never know how close you could be to finding your next job...

Happy Job Hunting!
