Video Advice for Job Seekers, by AllTheTopBananas.com

by Sarah 9. June 2010 11:14
Those of you who are job seeking at the moment will know that, for the most part, looking for a new job is not really fun. It's a time consuming minefield. The idea that job seeking could ever be 'fun' is pretty laughable. It can be made easier, sure. A jobs website could make their site more user friendly, give the job seeker more features to help them in their job hunt, but ultimately the bottom line is, looking for a job is just the same old boring process, no matter where you do it.

But if the age of social media has taught us anything, it's that nothing has to be constrained to the 'same old boring process'. Twitter, Facebook and YouTube are just three of the sites that have revolutionised the way businesses operate. They give companies the chance to communicate with their users on a more personal level; be more transparent about how they operate; and produce useful content in a variety of different formats on a variety of different platforms.

AllTheTopBananas.com is one of the jobs websites that have done just that. You can download their iPhone app and search for jobs on the move. You can go to one of their many Twitter accounts and get targeted jobs by direct message. You can become a fan on Facebook and read funny work related stories, keep up to date with job seeking news and instantly receive personal job seeking advice. And now you can watch job seeking advice on the AllTheTopBananas YouTube Channel.

As well as their promo Lego videos, which if you haven't seen- you must check out, AllTheTopBananas have just begun to produce job seeking advice video blogs. These 3-4 minute videos aim to help job seekers get the most of of their job hunt. The first video in the series gives top tips on writing your CV, and you can take a look at it below. Lets take this job seeking lark into the 21st century shall we?
